The Minerals Commission has warned the public against fraudulent job offers from individuals and unauthorised entities claiming to recruit workers on behalf of the Commission.
In a statement, the Commission said it had not contracted any individual, agent or group to undertake recruitment on its behalf.
It stressed that recruitment into the public service is free and that applicants are not required to pay any fee, down payment or facilitation charge to secure employment.
The Minerals Commission therefore cautioned members of the public to be wary of persons who demand money in exchange for purported job opportunities or promises to facilitate recruitment.
According to the Commission, all legitimate recruitment opportunities, when available, will be advertised through official channels, including the national dailies, its official website, verified social media platforms and recognised news portals.
It urged prospective applicants to rely exclusively on these platforms for information on vacancies and recruitment procedures.
The Minerals Commission also advised members of the public not to engage private agents or individuals who claim to have been authorised to recruit on its behalf.
Anyone approached with a recruitment offer involving the payment of money has been encouraged to report the matter to the nearest law enforcement agency or through the Commission’s official contact channels.
The Minerals Commission reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity and due process in its operations and recruitment activities.
